For one thing, Kadafy's death means we know can spell his name any way we want.
What is says for Libya's immediate prospects for a free democracy is hard to say. Let's hope the victorious rebels set up a democratic government, but the risks of a tyrannical successor are high when the world's established democracies have no boots on the ground.
Good luck, local freedom fighters.

All week long I kept thinking of that song by the Young Rascals so many years ago. All the world over so easy to see/People everywhere just want to be free/. Kadafy came to a brutal end just like many of his kind have over the centuries. I can only hope and pray that the Libyan people will set up a free and democratic government after so many years of brutal repression. Perhaps other modern dictators such as Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Omar Al-Bashir of Sudan, Kim Jong-Il of North Korea and Sayyid Ali Khameni of Iran will be removed from power very soon. Democracy and freedom are the dreams of people everywhere.

Hey, somebody actually seems to miss Qaḏḏāfī.
