The Washington Post author of that article even dutifully tells us how to think: "Stephens's explanation [that it was removed merely because it didn't 'fit right'] makes sense because it is inconceivable that the White House's art experts would imagine Thomas's painting was fraudulent or a copy."

Thank you, Blake Gopnik, but we'll be the judge on what makes sense at this White House. And, so far, it isn't much.
