I agree.

By the time Barack Obama was born, his mother and father had had a falling out.
Conjecture has it that his mom, Stanley Ann Dunham, may have attempted to shield herself, as the US mother of a baby, from any possible court action from the Kenyan father, Barack Obama, Sr., by making sure there were birth announcements and a US birth certificate.
Additionally, it is possible that the original birth certificate doesn't list Obama's biological father as the father on the birth certificate as further protection in any possible custody battle for Barack.
But who knows for sure ?

This is a mystery that Barack Obama seems to be keeping alive, ultimately for unknown reasons, but it could come to an abrupt end if the original "long form" birth certificate is ever released.

I have one thought as to why we haven't seen the original: My original birth certificate has my religion on it! I didn't even know I was alive yet, and I already had a religion.

Religion must have been phased out of birth certificates since none of my kids have it on theirs, but I promise you that it's on mine.

You see where I'm going with this, right?

This whole issue is really about an expectation of openness and honesty. We expect others to be open and honest. We don’t start from the position that the other person is lying. That’s why used car salesmen and hucksters get away with so much. People don’t want to believe that the other person is trying to mislead or take advantage of them. The other person has to do something to alert them to that.

It is unexpected that Obama would defend his birth certificate in this way. There is nothing in a birth certificate that is private. I’ll show you mine. I have a facsimile copy from the state I got years ago when I needed to file for a security clearance. And I’m not running for President. Why would someone who wanted to be President of the United States hire lawyers to prevent the public release of his birth certificate? He wanted to be President for god sake. At least he wanted to be. He is now.

And why does he allow the issue to continue? It can be easily resolved. He can get a copy of his birth certificate from the state and release it. End of story. Shouldn’t the President of the United States try to fulfill the expectations of the citizens of this country? Is the reason he doesn’t because it is apparently only a minority of Americans that want proof? What does that say about his feelings toward people in the minority? What does that say about his feelings toward Americans?

I have an expectation. I expect that my President, whether he (or she) is a Democrat, Republican, Independent or Libertarian, is not a liar, cheat, or thief. My confidence in this is reinforced when I see him (or her) act in ways that are open, honest, demonstrate good character and judgment, and generally meet my expectations. When the President’s actions run counter to this I become suspicious. It is a totally natural reaction.

I wonder about the people who aren’t suspicious. It strikes me as odd that someone would act in an unexpected way and someone else would not be suspicious. I find it especially ironic that most of those who advertise their “non-suspiciousness” are politicians or pundits. Certainly that is a class of individuals who have a heightened sense of awareness to anything that doesn’t meet expectations.

Regardless, once again we have an issue that is ultimately all about Obama. Does he like to keep these things in the public view because of the attention or something? What I think is interesting is what it shows us about Obama as a man and as a President. Once again, I find him lacking.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs claimed that proof of President Obama's birthplace had been demonstrated "ad nauseam."

What could be further from the truth?

How much money do you think has been spent by the Democratic party and Barack Obama defending against the lawsuits that demanded to see his birth certificate? How much money has been wasted in our taxpayer funded courtrooms on this challenge? The answer has to be easily in the hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars by now. Why does Barack Obama waste so much money if he was truly born in Hawaii?

The Certificate of Live Birth is, from my understanding, something that could be obtained by people who were not actually born in Hawaii at that time. So it is meaningless.

The newspaper announcement would normally be meaningless to me as I, too, would have my child's birth announced in the local papers even if he had been born in a different country while we were out of the U.S. Typically, newspapers will print pretty much any announcement you give them. However, I read recently that the newspaper birth announcements were created from information provided by the local hospitals. That would help Obama's case, if true. Is it true? We'll probably never know.

The cover up is always the process/event that bites you.

Beyond just the questions over the birth certificate secrecy:

As WND has reported, Obama has also failed to release his school records, his Occidental College records, his Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, his Harvard Law School records, his Harvard Law Review articles, his scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, his passport, his medical records and his files from his years as an Illinois state legislator.

What is he hiding?

Why eligibility story is still alive

Why does Obama's Grandmother and other family members insist that he was born in Kenya? I believe there is a 'cover up' at the highest level in this administration and could eventually become the most controversial presidency in American history.

Here is proof that President Obama was not born in the United States.

It appears that there were five ways to get a birth certificate in Hawaii in 1961 -- not all of them satisfy the presidential requirement to be a natural born citizen.
