It's better for them than it was in Iraq under Saddam, though. At least they can choose not to vote.

I can choose to not vote.. if I want to pay a fine.

But I do want to vote, so that's OK. At least I won't get "disappeared" for not voting. Unless I don't pay... nah, they'll probably just break my kneecaps.

I agree it's better for Iranians today than for Iraqis under Saddam. There is some freedom of speech and freedom of the press. But the trend is bad. It started when they disqualified all the reform candidates last year.
