The government takes things all the time. It takes taxes. Some people are opposed to that as well. It takes cars and houses from people who are holding drugs. Many people think that's just fine.

I heard about a man who clear-cut his property when he found out that it was being considered as part of a public park. He didn't even wait to see what the offer would be. He didn't consider anything to be more important than his ownership rights, and he didn't find anything too beutiful to destroy for the sake of spite. There are people that would do that with the whole planet. These people think that the world ends when they die.
