Most of us knew the forces of democracy had won the Iraq war last year, but Democrats didn't want to credit President Bush with success after they'd insisted he lost (or should I say, after they insisted that he lose).
Well, now Secretary of Defense Robert Gates says "we see" success in Iraq, and he wants the same success in Afghanistan.
When is the parade for Iraq's liberators?

Note: On July 5, 2009, Vice President Joe Biden said we are "securing victory" in Iraq, not cutting losses. And on April 7, 2009, President Obama told U.S. Marines at Camp Victory, Iraq, that they had succeeded in giving Iraq a chance for "a democratic country."
