We don't celebrate independence alone on Independence Day. We celebrate the Declaration of Independence, which not only declared the independence of the United States from Britain, but also recognized boldly that people have rights, and among them are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
All humans have these rights. Unfortunately, only half the world's people are allowed to exercise their rights. The rest are yearning to breathe free.
Think what your freedom means today.
