Why don’t they? Except for the Islamic Commission of Spain, the world’s leading Muslim clerics have taken no stand against the culture of death promoted by Osama bin Laden, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and the other bloodthirsty, glory-hungry Islamists.
It’s time for the ayatollahs, the mullahs, the imams, the sheikhs and minor clerics, whoever leads mosques anywhere, to issue fatwas against the killing of innocents, no matter their faith, no matter their home country.
Face it. The suicide bombers – and even the terrorists who die of natural causes – are condemned to eternity in Hell with Hitler.
Delusions of 72 virgins. Why don’t the mullahs warn them? Why do they allow the killers to delude themselves with dreams of having their way with 72 black-eyed virgins in paradise?
Perhaps Spain’s Muslim clerics felt safe to issue their fatwa against bin Laden. They acted a year after Spain surrendered to al-Qaida and withdrew its troops from Iraq. The heat was off.
Is that the problem? Are the other Muslim leaders afraid to tell the truth? If a cowardly soul tolerates murder and mutilation to no good purpose, what is the coward’s eternal reward?
