Murdoc Online reports his son’s Cub Scout pack decorated pillows last autumn and sent them to American soldiers and Marines in Iraq.
A Marine captain wrote back to thank the Cub Scouts:
"Dear Pack 3311,
"I want to let you know that I was given a pillow here in Iraq with your address. This pillow is decorated with the American flag and I now use this pillow every night. Each night when I lay my head on this pillow and I read what you wrote and see the American flag, I am reminded why we are here in Iraq fighting this war. We are here for people like you, our future."
When democracy’s roots grow strong in Iraq in 10 or 12 years, those Cub Scouts will be living in a world made better by that Marine and hundreds of thousands of other Americans, Britons and others who risked their lives to end tyranny.
