Keep the United Nations. It has its purposes.
But it treats dictatorships with far too much respect. The dictators are the reason for almost all of the world’s suffering, and yet the U.N. avoids embarrassing them with that truth.
We need a new international organization of freedom. It’s time for a United Democracies, a forum that makes it clear that liberal democracy is everyone’s right.
Dictatorships could be allowed only "associate U.D. memberships," with limited status. Their ambassadors would be introduced as representatives of "the illegitimate government of North Korea," or "the illegitimate government of China" or even possibly "the illegitimate government of Russia," and so on.
The U.D. would encourage accelerated democratic reforms through grants, education, and offers of generous bounties for the capture alive of any dictator.
As the number of free U.D. member states grows, everyone would begin to enjoy the peace and progress the foot-draggers were too narrow-minded to anticipate.
Just imagine a world that stopped making excuses for dictators.
